World Championship for 6yo horses

It was the day of "Oranje boven" at the International Dressage and Show-Jumping Festival at Verden on Friday. The black KWPN stallion Westpoint (Jazz / Michelangelo) delivered the first headline. With a total mark of 9.0 he became World Champion of six-year-old dressage horses. To rider Emmelie Scholtens the win was very emotional, as the young rider had her last ride for Larakkers Stable on Westpoint at Verden. Scholtens is going to set up on her own and hopes that the partnership will be continued: "Maybe I can ride him also in the future. I never believed that I would win here. Last year we were 36th." The judges certified Westpoint the best walk in the class, and gave him a 9.0. His canter received a 9.5. Second and third place went to Germany. To the Hanoverian stallion Florinero by Fürst Heinrich - A Jungle Prince (8.72), presented by Dorothee Schneider (Wiesbaden) and to the Vice World Champion of 2008, the Trakehner stallion Imperio by Connery - Balfour xx (8.42) with Anna-Sopie Fiebelkorn (Verden). After winning silver in the class for five-year-olds Fiebelkorn was happy with the bronze medal: "Only ten days ago Imperio finished his breeding season and was much in demand. I am very satisfied with our result."
