Sports Ministry to train monitors - course held on May 1to12

At least 150 sports officials of the country's 18 provinces will attend the course for monitors, which shall be held from May 01 to 12, in Lubango city, southern Huíla province. This was said to ANGOP last Monday, in Luanda, by the national sports director, Raimundo Ricardo. The director, who was in Lubango city over the weekend, met with local government officials, from whom he obtained guarantees for holding the aforementioned upgrading course. He also explained that the activity will happen under sports generalisation programme dubbed “Despontar”. The course, which will count on the assistance of national lecturers, follows a similar activity that began on April 07 in the north-eastern Lunda Norte province and will end next Thursday. According to him, the participants to the course will learn about the right to play sports, leisure, methodology and sports planning. On the fringes of the lessons, workshops shall be held under the topics “The importance of journalism for the sports development” and “sports as a factor for development”. The “Despontar” programme, meant for training, was launched in 2008 in the central Bié province and is being implementing countrywide. The first phase comprises the sports of football, basketball, gymnastics, athletics, volleyball and disability sport, whilst the second phase expects the increase of sports.
