Kasab trial - Lawyer wants another day

Day after hundreds of protesters, mostly Shiv Sainiks, gathered outside the police housing complex in Worli and shouted slogans against lawyer Anjali Whagmare for agreeing to take up Kasab’s case, she has sought one day to decide whether or not she will continue as Kasab’s lawyer. Meanwhile, a local court in Mumbai has sought a report from the police about Monday night’s incident outside her residence and after the report the court will decide whether or not to go ahead with contempt charges against the nine arrested accused.
Also the second lawyer for Kasab – K P Pawar, has been asked to be in court on Wednesday to state his position on assisting Whagmare.
Anjali Whagmare is the government appointed legal counsel for Ajmal Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist arrested for the Mumbai terror attacks in November last year.
