Airport of Chennai: Everyday nearly 750 flights are arriving and going. Around 1.06 crore passengers are using this air port. 2.71 lakh cargo handled by this air port. Near Sriperumpattur a new Air port being constructed with an estimate of Rs.5000 crores. In the mean time, by utilizing 1256 Acre land extension work being carried out with a cost Rs.1000 crore. The work will be completed with 26 months time. After completion of this work, the terminal will have a capacity of 1.4 lakh sq.ft and 60 Emigrant entry counters will start functioning.
