New drug to alleviate menstrual pain soon- study

Thanks to a latest research development, women may be spared from going through menstrual pains month after month. VAIII913 is the new drug that’s presently undergoing phase II clinical trials. The drug which would be available in the form of a pill would wipe out the cause of the pain instead of working on the symptoms. VAIII913 drug is being developed and tested by the UK based pharmaceutical company Vantia Ltd. The study was showcased at the 239th meeting of American Chemical society. Every month most of the women suffer immense menstrual pain varying in intensity. For some women this pain goes beyond tolerance and hinders routine activity. This condition in medical terminology is known as Dysmenorrhea, severe uterine pain experienced during menstruation. Drug VAIII913 would mean the World to many such women who suffer by way of these pains. “Dysmenorrhea not only diminishes the quality of life for millions of women, but also has a hidden, society-wide economic cost that involves an enormous number of days lost from work and school,” said lead author of the study Andrzej R.
