Are You Sure You Don't Need a CCTV Camera Monitor

Surveillance cameras are one of the best ways to monitor and capture any illegal activity such as shoplifting in stores and supermarkets, some fighting in the vicinity of schools, or robbery in the store. But what's the use of spy cameras, if you head no screens to see the view they transmit.

Shield is very important when it concerns video capturing from CCTV cameras. Spy camera monitors vary in size and shape. They have different resolutions, may come in color or black and white, have audio options or not. So to get a good security camera system, not just look at the specifications for security cameras, but also on monitors of spy cameras.

Of course, for basic monitoring needs, you can get away with a TV or computer screen. But for more professional (better image quality) camera view, you should consider a special security camera monitor.

TV screen and Spy Camera View

Now, some people choose to use their television for capturing spy camera view. It may be a good idea if you do not want to have a high image quality.

You see, spy cameras use a specific number of horizontal lines present in the image. Normally, black and white spy cameras have about 380 horizontal lines. Colored those who have around 330 or so horizontal lines. But there are higher quality, safety cameras, using more horizontal lines to reproduce the image.

Better quality can be achieved by purchasing 580 TV line black and white cameras or 460 colored TV lines security cameras. Now, if you use a TV screen to represent the image, you will not achieve a high resolution. That's because TV has less horizontal lines than the spy camera can produce. So to get a quality image, you need a better quality screen.

Security Camera Monitors

Spy cam monitors offer much better resolution than conventional TV's. You may find some monitors that handle 900 or 1000 horizontal television lines. So you can be sure that the image quality you get will be maximum.

If you do not need a very high resolution for the collection of images, so you can go for a 330 or 400 TV-line display. It will be cheaper, but will do the job. But if image quality is crucial for your surveillance needs, then think better quality spy camera surveillance, which can handle 900 TV lines.

Another thing to consider is color or B & W screen. Of course, if your camera is black and white, so there is no reason to use colored security camera monitor to the right. But if you decide to use some colored cameras, then you can complain to select B & W screen. Basically black-white cameras produce better image quality compared to colored them. But in some cases, color cameras are irreplaceable.

Some monitors come with audio technology built-in. This means that a person sitting across screens not only can see what the camera, but also talk to the person near the door. For example, if someone is at the door or gate, you can see the person and say something to him using a built-in speaker. If the security camera includes audio for you both can talk to each other from a distance. This is a great feature guards guarding the area.

Finally, you have a screen that handles more than one camera at a time. If you are a homeowner looking for a screen, so you can get away with a camera only. But for larger companies, the ability to monitor many cameras at the same time is very important. Some CCTV camera monitors allow you to see 4 or even up to 16 cameras at the time using a split mode. These monitors also allow you to switch from one camera to another, and even use a picture-in-picture viewing.

Conclusion

Security camera monitors are relatively cheap. For a basic B & W model you can pay just over $ 150 dollars. Better, the LCD screens cost from $ 200 to $ 400 or a little more dollars. It all depends on your needs.

If you want a color video camera that captures high quality think has a built-in audio equipment, you can have multiple camera view so you can make an internet search and finding the most suitable security camera monitor your every need.

After reading this blog I think I really do need a surveillance system for our business! I've been advised by some of my peers to use a fake one, however I don't think thieves nowadays are as easy to fool; I'm sure they have done their own research and now have a keen eye on detecting which store has a quality security system from those that don't. I think it's true that a formidable CCTV Camera can really deter crimes.
