May 2009, GSM industry has reported new GSM mobile phone connections with 83 Lakhs on this may.New GSM subscribers which extends to the total of 30 Crores 64 lakh connections.In the previous month's (April) record of 29 Crores 81 lakh subscribers.It shows that 70 percent of all new Cellphone subscribers choose only GSM phones.Bharati AIRTEL retains the first spot in the New GSM connections.It has 32.48 percent of the Market share.Airtel has crossed 10 Crores subscribers in the last May.It has achieved 28 Lakhs new connections in this May 2009. Vodafone Essar achieved 25 Lakhs new Connections which extends to 7 Crores 4o Lakhs subscribers. Idea Cellular gets 13 Lakhs new Connections with the total of 4 Crores 54 Lakhs Subscribers
