The 12th annual John Noce Golf Classic, hosted by the College of San Mateo baseball program, is scheduled for Oct. 12 (Columbus Day) at Poplar Creek Golf Course in San Mateo. Registration is at noon, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. It's $150 for golf, a cart, lunch and dinner, plus a chance at prizes. For more details, contact CSM baseball coach Doug Williams] CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENTThe sixth annual Tony Makjavich Memorial Golf Tournament, a charity event, will be held Sunday, Sept. 27 at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Gilroy. The event to raise funds for Makjavich's pride and joy — the Palo Alto Oaks semi-pro baseball program — will have a scramble format and begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The cost of $160 includes green fees, cart, prizes, range balls and a tri-tips dinner. Sponsorships are available for $175, which gets you a tee sign and entry in the program. The cost to attend the banquet and raffle only is $35.
