Manmohan singh - Shreyas to join politics

Shreyas Talpade attended PM Manmohan Singh’s meeting held for a select crowd in Mumbai yesterday, because he is keen to join After Sanjay Dutt, now Shreyas Talpade is keen to join politics. His political ambitions became pretty evident when he attended a hush-hush meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and leading dignitaries from various fields, which was held yesterday afternoon at a suburban five star hotel.
A source said, “Shreyas idolises PM Manmohan Singh for the way he maintains a dignified silence despite provocation from opposition leader, L K Advani. Shreyas believes that such a quality is rare to come by and also a must-have for a true leader. So when he heard that Manmohan Singh was attending a meeting in Mumbai, he couldn’t resist it. He requested filmmaker Subhash Ghai, who had received an invitation to the event, to take him along.”
The actor felt honoured at being just at arm’s length from the person he admired the most. Recalling the excitement of seeing Manmohan Singh in person, Shreyas gushed, “Though I did not get a chance to meet our Prime Minister, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to his speech on various topics like the 26/11 issue and the economic meltdown. It was well thought-out and well-spoken.” Shreyas sprung a surprise and said, “I want to get involved in active politics and that is the reason why I attended this meeting. Don’t be surprised if I become a candidate in the next elections. I am deeply concerned about our nation, especially after 26/11. Also, looking at the current scenario, I strongly feel that every citizen should be given military training and made to work six months for the country.” Interestingly, Shreyas had contested elections during his college days, when he had bagged only four votes. Shreyas chortled, “That was a time when I felt I should try my hand at everything, so I stood for college elections too. It was a great experience.”
